Environmental Volunteers Needed
The Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) is a local environmental non-profit that works on issues that effect Toronto. We fight against smog, climate change, and toxics and for our Greenbelt and a community’s right to know about chemical pollution.
TEA has been active for 20 years, and has been frequently called Toronto’s most successful environmental activist group. We have had many successes over the years, including getting a pesticide bylaw for Toronto, hosting Toronto’s first environmental mayoral debate in 2003, and putting out an annual ‘smog report card’ that holds the city accountable for cleaning up our air.
We are seeking self-motivated environmentalists to join our door-to-door canvass team. Our canvass raises awareness of our issues on the doorstep, and raises funds to support our campaigns. The hours are 3:30 to 9:30pm weekdays, based on 2 hours travel and administration time and 4 hours knocking on doors. We provide competitive remuneration. Experience helps, but we will train!
This is your chance to join our team and help green Toronto. And it’s a great opportunity for young people or students looking for a summer job.
If you or anyone you know wants to take advantage of this opportunity, have them call our canvass line at 416-596-0500. If we’re not in the office please leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
