Green Together
How is this program different from getting an energy audit done by a certified auditor?
Green Together’s role is to compliment the energy audit process.
Our volunteers can help you:
• arrange an energy audit and other services.
• meet neighbours who have done similar work
• offer you a list of contractors who have been used and rated by other members of the community.
• answer questions about a variety of rebate and incentive programs
• share information about our partners who can offer services to reduce green house gas emissions.
• calculate your actual energy savings.
• help connect you to the products and services that meet your needs.
Why is a program like this necessary?
Only 20% of people who begin the audit process complete it. We believe that is an indication that the process is overwhelming and homeowners are missing out on valuable rebates as well as the benefits of making their home more energy efficient. People who have undergone the audit process have indicated that they would have liked a independent support person to talk to as they retrofitted their homes.
Do I need to have an energy audit to participate?
No, we do encourage anyone who is eligible to have an energy audit because it is the only way for homeowners to access a number of federal and provincial rebates. However, if you want to do energy retrofits and be part of our program without having an energy audit you are still welcome to participate.
