The Future of Energy in Toronto
Hello City Councillors and Staff,
Please consider attending one or both of the following knowledge sessions regarding the Future of Energy in Toronto.
Guest Speaker, David Hughes is a respected expert on Canadian energy issues.
David, will be exploring scientific and market data that will illuminate political and policy opportunities and pitfalls in Toronto’s Energy Future.
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Mr. David Hughes is a geoscientist for NRCan and the Canadian Geological Survey who has offered his expertise to Toronto City Councillors and Staff for two evenings.
September 11th and 12th David will provide a dynamic and comprehensive exploration of critical energy issues.
The presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 11 will be from 7 to 9 pm in Toronto City Hall Council Chamber:
‘The Future of Energy: Where have we been & where are we going?’
Mr. Hughes will speak to the issue of Energy Security regionally, nationally and globally and to the geological data which supports a societal requirement for adaptation to meet climate change and energy supply realities.
This Session will provide policy makers with the language and scientific information to deal with public concern over Global Warming.
Panel Discussion on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7 to 10 pm: Toronto, City Hall Committee room.
‘Canadian Energy Security in the context of Climate & Supply Questions’
On the Sept. 12, an expert panel will be David Hughes and Ralph Torrie and both Enbridge and Pembina will explore local and regional solutions to energy and related climate change issues.
