Pilot Solar Water Heating Program for Homeowners in Toronto-Danforth

If you’re a resident of Ward 30 (Toronto-Danforth), you can take part in a pilot solar water heating program run by the City of Toronto’s Environment Office and a few other partners.

If your house qualifies (you have to undergo an initial assessment), you would be eligible for up to $3000 in incentives to help defray the capital cost of installation.
There are also special loans available as part of the program to help distribute the initial cost evenly over a period of a few years.

Apparently Riverdale already had a program where residents have installed solar water heating and they’ve offered to help provide advice to Danforth residents terms of finding suppliers, etc.

More info on the Solar Neighbourhoods program can be found at http://www.solarneighbourhoods.ca.
