The Colour of Light

Compact fluorescents are great in many ways but I want to find one that emits similar colours to a tungsten bulb. I have experimented with many varieties of CF’s but even the ones describing warm natural tones, all seem too green to my eyes. I’ve heard similar complaints from numerous clients and interested folk but haven’t found the solution. Will the solution come in the next generation of lighting technology? Other complaints I’ve heard about compact fluorescents have to do with the dimming capability.  Apparently they are not identical to tungsten bulbs since they cannot be dimmed in the same way.  What is the solution to these problems? I will write about it when I find out.
