Solar observations

As I sit down to type this, the clouds move in and the snow starts to fall.This is , of course, one of the drawbacks of solar power. The “aginners” would have you believe that this is a fatal flaw of solar-it is dependent on the sun, and as such no sun no power. I would argue that solar modules have much less down time than Pickering-We know that the winter months are low production times,and when solar starts generating again, we don’t have a clean up of gargantuan proportions. Another supposed downside is the cost-You essentially prepay for a portion of the electricity you will be consuming for the next 20-35 years! Did you just buy a quarter tank of dinosaur juice to get up to the cottage in 2019? Did you just buy half a box of grape nuts that you will eat in 2025? That’s crazy talk,but if you have a solar array, you just prepaid for a percentage of your electricity at a fixed price, one that is more expensive at the moment,but soon will seem cheap, as we enter the new energy paradigm.
