Strawberries and Asparagus 2007

Join http://www.EvolutionGreen.com and key (Human Capital) Sponsor Green Neighbours 21 (GN21.ca) for a celebration of community, greenspace and the environment at the first annual Strawberries and Asparagus Festival. Where:
Strawberries and Asparagus will be held near the Cedarvale Children’s Garden, North of the Tennis Courts and in the Parkette at the North end of Arlington Ave. This Event is Free. Everyone is welcome. This event continues a 7 year tradition honouring the 36th anniversary of Cedarvale Ravine not being a highway.
Activities:
Free Concert: 551 Arlington Avenue
Local residents Chris Chopik and Marc Paille are hosting a day of fun and music at his home at 551 Arlington Avenue. The Music will be varied and compelling and will offer a variety of styles throughout the day. Music unites people, bridges differences, bringing people together. If the conditions are right the stage will be sponsored by the Sun, courtesy of Solera Sustainable Energies and David Watts.
(Potential) Farmers Market: 553 Arlington Avenue
Local Ontario Farmers who are closely connected to the August 2007 commencing Wychwood Farmer’s Market will be available to connect you with locally grown and craft produced food products. Learn about why you should hug your farmer.
Solar Cook-off: Cedarvale Children’s Garden
SunBaked Solar Cooking, and EvolutionGreen present Green Neighbour’s 21 first Solar Cook-off. Chefs from around Toronto have been invited to participate in a light hearted competition/demonstration of solar cooking. Solar cooking is easy and fun, please come to learn more.
GET Smart Festival: Cedarvale Children’s Garden
With the assistance of Green Enterprise Toronto our community will offer a showcase for local green businesses and not for profits to connect with community members to offer sustainable living advice, product and services.
Sculpture Challenge: TBD
Jessica Tudos of Kika Creative will be coordinating a temporary art installation at a location that is part of the event area. Jessica is the creator of the BenchMark program in Liberty Village and is an artist and a facilitator without Borders.
Community Picnic: 553 Arlington Ave.
Join neighbours and friends for food and non-alcoholic beverages continuing a 7 year tradition celebrating the 36 anniversary of Cedarvale Park not being a Highway. Bring food and have a picnic or show up for some tasty locally grown and produced food and drink courtesy of Chris Chopik and Marc Paille.
Yoga in the Park, Get Smart Talks, and Story Telling: Cedarvale Children’s Garden
Centre yourself in your own energy - surrounded by 40 acres of Rural Park in Toronto. There will be several Yoga Classes and some healthy living learning opportunities for you and your neighbours and friends. Children’s story telling will take place throughout the day.
All Events are FREE. For those interested there will be opportunity to make a donation to the Cedarvale Children’s Garden.
