Toronto Green Award Winners
smartliving St. Lawrence Wins 2007 Green Toronto Award!
The results are in and smartliving St. Lawrence (slSL) has officially been recognized by the City of Toronto for making a real difference in fostering a greener environment, a healthier community and a stronger local economy for the residents, businesses and community groups in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood.
This collaborative project between Eneract, a registered environmental charity, and the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association (SLNA) was honoured alongside other great initiatives on May 1 at a ceremony at City Hall. Featuring a live performance by Molly Johnson and presided over by Mayor David Miller and Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, this ceremony recognized outstanding environmental leadership in the City of Toronto.
We would like to thank the City of Toronto, the Green Toronto Awards and the sponsor for the community project award category, Loblaw Companies Ltd. A $5000 donation will be made to Eneract so that we can continue our work on empowering community members to effect positive changes where they work, live and play.
We would also like to acknowledge the many wonderful, dedicated volunteers who donated their time and talent to making this project a great success. Without you, there would be no smartliving St. Lawrence.
